Jessica Steinhäuser developed an interest in pottery at the age of sixteen and become determined to pursue a career as a professional potter.

Education:

2009 Stone carving workshop with Nick Fairplay, Guelph

2004 Working with oven builders in Austria.

1989-2009 Owner and Operator of Stonehouse Pottery in downtown Guelph.

1988 Immigrated to Canada at age twenty-two to further develop her skills and to become a professional potter.

1985-1988 Specialized potter apprenticeship in Staatl. Keramikfachschule (State School for Ceramics), Landshut, Germany. Jessica completed three years of training in pottery prior to receiving her designation as a Graduate Journeyman Potter

1984-1985 Practicum in pottery at Staatl. Fachschule für Gestatung (State School for Art and Design), Nürnberg, Germany

1982-1983 Spent a year at a high school in Grand Rapids, Michigan as an exchange student learning English and taking courses in pottery

1981-1984 Wirtschaftschule, Nürnberg, Germany
